Tom Sullivan
Vocalist • Guitarist • Songwriter
Tom “Tommy” Sullivan has been a familiar face on the Chicagoland music scene. A versatile vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter, Tommy has never been tied to just one sound. His musical roots run deep in Rock, Blues, Funk, and Soul, and throughout his career he has moved comfortably between genres while always staying true to his love of performing.
Tommy’s connection to music started at an early age. Growing up in a musical family, he began singing in the church choir, where he discovered his passion for performing. That early foundation eventually led him to the stage in the early 1980s with Blind Ambition, beginning a musical journey that would take him through countless venues, bands, and styles across the Chicagoland area.
Over the years, Tommy performed with a variety of groups, including Myth, Finneas J, and FunkHouse, where he became especially known for his ability to move between Rock, Blues, Funk, and Soul. He continued exploring different sides of his musical personality with 10 Fold and the hard-driving Rock band Resin Diggers.
As the music scene evolved, so did Tommy. His appreciation for ’90s music led him to The Shaggers, where he spent time performing throughout the Chicagoland area. By the late 1990s and into the 2000s, Tommy had expanded into the corporate and industrial entertainment circuit, performing with several groups, including Outside Influence and The DKB Band. Today, Tommy continues to write, record, and perform. He is currently sharing his passion for original music with Sativa Brothers, working on new material while continuing to do what he has always loved - getting on stage, connecting with an audience, and making music. After more than four decades, Tommy’s enthusiasm for music hasn’t slowed down. If anything, it has continued to evolve. For him, it’s never been about fitting into one particular style. It’s about the music, the people, the groove, and the next song waiting to be written.
And the groove goes on.
